By 2022.12, the statistics shows there are 1082+ critical crude oil pipelines (existing, constructing and planning) for China, including the international oil import pipelines, inter-provincial pipelines, intra-provincial pipelines and oil field gathering truck lines.

Connecting China's upstream oil fields, import facilities and downstream oil refineries, these pipelines have formed a couple of regional networks, which include PetroChina's Northeast-Northern China network, Northwest China network and Southwest China network, Sinopec's Northern-Eastern-Central China network and Southern China coastal network, CNOOC's offshore network, Yanchang Petroleum's Shaanxi province network. Privately-owned oil refining companies are also speeding up constructing their own crude oil pipelines in Shandong province.
